The Run

Location: Munjar Rd. (from my house)
Distance: 6 miles

Overall

I stayed up late last night because I was freakin' out about doing laundry and packing to go to Virginia. I still have so much to do! My plane leaves today! ACK! I wasn't going to run. I even told Sam, my training partner, that I wasn't going to workout today, but I was so restless and uneasy this morning that I couldn't help but do something. So, I strapped on my shoes and just headed straight out the door w/my dog in tow. I ended up being a totally rewarding jog this morning! Aside from almost being attacked by two separate off-leash dogs, I had a great time running with my own mostly-well-behaved doggie, Calen.

The Swim

Location: Chico Sports Club Pool
Distance: 2000 yards

Overall

Hooray! No sprints today. I'm always happy when I can breathe. I'm also glad for the changeup in stroke. I actually really like freestyle, but only when I'm going slow and in a rhythmic pace. The biggest problem I seem to have is getting my rhythm going in the mornings at 5:30 AM. At least today I had a lot of opportunity to play around with other strokes.

The Spinning Class

Location: Chico Sports Club Spinning Room
Time: 1 hr. 20 min.

Overall

This was my first time spinning in over a year. I had forgotten a lot–like how the flywheel can yank your feet from your legs if you aren't careful! I had also forgotten how much I perspire! I was practically raining! I went through two of those 16 oz. bike bottles before the class was even half over! But, it was a blast and I had forgotten that "sits" just burn-burn-burn, but all that pain produces such gain on the actual course! Whew!
