The Spinning Class
- High spinning, low gear
- Lots of 2's and 3's positions
- 60 minutes - Endurance ride on flats with rolling hills.
- 10 minutes - Easy flats.
Synopsis
- Upshot: Finally some cross-training!
- Downside: I've never had a boring Spinning class before this one!
- What I'm most proud of: I remembered to get a reservation and stamp!
- What I would do differently: Pray that Cheri will be there!
Overall
About as exciting as doing the laundry … that was the Spinning class I went to today. Even Sam was shocked at how long the class felt. I was bored … the room was hot and damp. It smelled dank–Ewwwww. The clock slowly ticked the minutes by. I tried to keep myself best entertained with my HRM, keeping within a 163-173 bpm range. Check. Did that w/o a problem. How long can a person ride on pretend flats and hills when left to their own imagination? Spinning sucks when you're fully aware that you're in a room with a whole bunch of other people in a room, cycling away with nothing to entertain or distract you. The instructor was not our usual cheery Cheri. Today I realized that Cheri rocks. I fully realize that now. She's so interactive. I think she's ruined me for bad spinning instructors forever!
And this will be a future topic I'll pontificate upon: Good Teachers and Good Exercise Instructors have a lot in common.
