Terrain: 25 yards, 80 degrees
Distance and/or Time: 1500 yards, 50 minutes
Speed and/or RPE: 5 (somewhat hard)
HRR: 143-173 (Aerobic)
The Swim
- 300 yards - freestyle easy.
- 200 yards - 25 kick free, 25 kick fly.
- 2 x 100 yards - 25 free right, 25 free left, 50 free.
- 3 x 100 - 25 fly, 25 back, 25 breast, 25 free.
- 200 yards - 25 kick free, 25 kick fly.
- 300 yards - freestyle easy.
Synopsis
- Upshot: Loosened up my ultra sore neck and shoulders.
- Downside: Still recovering from flu.
- What I'm most proud of: That despite being flu-ridden only days before, I kept up with Sam pretty well.
- What I would do differently: Practice my flip turns and work on bending and snapping my knees/feet for fly.
Overall
Sam's doing a lot better than me in swimming right now. I've been out of serious swimming for over two weeks, I think. Even today was an easy swim day since I'm still recovering from the flu. Aside from that, I was surprised at how well my butterfly came together today. I can't fly kick for shit with the board, but I'm all right once my arms are added in. I think I must pull more than I push …
