Overall
It feels like a vacaction, only it's permanent. So, I'm back in Virginia. Forever. Or so it would seem until I return to California sometime in March for a few weeks. As it be, I'm not yet settled in. I still have everything in suitcases except for my workout clothes and I'm suffering from the WWIII of headcolds. What a crummy way to wake to the New Year! Oh, well. Consider it an omen that I already got my first cold of the year and have that done and out of the way! I should have resistance for a least another few months which means plenty of good training in my future.
Despite having a cold, I decided to get out and try a little light jogging to get some fresh air and my blood pumping. I am ever so glad I did. I wasn't going to jog, I was just going to walk 4 miles when I set out from home. Once at the Huckleberry Trailhead, however, I felt rather energized, so I set out on an easy run. In no time, I was at the two mile marker, circled back and reached the starting point. And like that, four miles were done. Nice!
