The Run

Synopsis

Overall

So, it’s been only 3 weeks … I’m sure I can run just a little bit. So, it was pouring down rain. My bike is still in the shop and will be there until Wednesday. I don’t have a car with me while I’m staying at Jenn’s apt. this weekend. The buses don’t run on Sunday’s either. I figured, I could try walking to the gym and get soaked and wet and cold, or I could just try a little light jogging and kill two birds with one stone. So, out I went for a short interval session, trying to keep it flat, light, and easy. That’s much easier said than done! I was easily crusing less than 9:30/mi and I had to really think about my stride numbers, posture, and how my hip feels. Does it hurt? Did that hurt? Was that an ache? Lean forward. No, backwards some. Shorten your stride. Doh! Don’t look at your feet! Head up! Drop your shoulders. Does my hip hurt? Like a cadence and sure as clockwork, that’s how it was as I ran 37 minutes away. I was surprised at how fast it went by. Nothing hurt per se, but the hip didn’t exactly feel good. It felt really snug, like some piece of leather was pulled tight across the side of my hip, running down to my foot somehow. I spent a long time after getting in some good stretching, but damn, that’s a weird spot and hard place to stretch. Tomorrow will be the judge of how I really feel. :)
